Oaxaca received the Food and Travel Reader Awards 2018 in the category of Best Gourmet Destination in Mexico, after the entity was nominated next to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco; San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato; Valley of Guadalupe, Baja California and the state of Puebla.
In a statement, it was reported that the representatives of the Tourism Secretariat of the State Government (Sectur Oaxaca), received this recognition granted by Food and Travel Mexico magazine and that distinguishes the entity as a favorite destination to enjoy the flavors of various culinary traditions.
Oaxaca was nominated by readers in two categories: Best Destination in Mexico and Best Gourmet Destination in Mexico.
The national and international food and travel magazine selects the nominees according to the mentions given to them, then they submit the voting options that the readers make.
Other distinctions that were granted to the state were through the Casa Oaxaca hotel, located in the Historic Center of the capital city, which received the prize of the Best Hotel category in Magic Town or Colonial City.
Oaxaca is placed among the favorite places for national and international travelers, who proposed the state in the nominations of these awards, based on their preferences, experiences and travel memories.
Food and Travel magazine is recognized nationally and worldwide for fusing gastronomy and travel through historical, cultural and traditional stories; its information is disseminated through the printed magazine, website, social networks and radio, as well as in publications of national circulation.
